I’m particularly excited about this one and it’s been a long time in the making! My former colleague and good friend Rod Smith MW is coming to visit for a few days in November and we’ve been talking about him leading some kind of ‘wine course’ for a while but haven’t been able to set dates. Rod qualified as a Master of Wine in 2006 and was just the 296th person in the world to achieve the qualification in over 50 years (this year he is the Chairperson of the Institute of Masters of Wine). We worked together in France for 7 years and I certainly learnt a lot from him! In the 9 years I’ve been running The Grape & The Good Rod has been travelling the world judging and teaching all things wine so I’m delighted he’s coming to Wells.
The aim is to make this an informal and enjoyable few hours relevant to anyone with an interest in wine regardless of knowledge. We’ll taste around a dozen wines from around the world while learning a bit about grape growing, wine making and food matching.
£45 per person.
